This dancehall project marks a significant milestone in Raymond’s career as she transitions from her soca roots to explore new musical territories.

Shanna Raymond’s musical journey began with the Soca Monarch Competition, which inspired her to pursue a career in music. Known for her powerful performances in the soca genre, Raymond has been influenced by Caribbean music icons like Destra Garcia and Spice, as well as international superstars Beyoncé and Rihanna. “This EP represents the risks I’ve taken over the year, pushing the envelope and taking a chance from being a main soca artist to doing dancehall as well,” Raymond explains.

“RISKY” features collaborations with talented producers from Nigeria and Jamaica, including Tough Producer, Xtough Producer, Hi light, and Markus Myrie. This diverse production team has helped shape the EP’s unique sound, blending Caribbean rhythms with contemporary dancehall beats.
