Scantana stirs diversity and versatility with new EP “4 Work Days”
As a teen Scantana was saturated by hip-hop influences where he developed a fascination with words; adopting “The Roget’s pocket dictionary” as his best friend. Scantana wrote his first rap song at age twelve and quickly earned the respect of his peers due to his lyrical prowess. His respect and popularity grew throughout his high school years as he scored performances with Hip-Hop/RnB acts in the likes of Foxy Brown, Tyrese Gibson, MA$E, SWV and many others.
He is a rapper, songwriter, screenplay writer, motivational speaker, an extraordinary performing artist and actor. He has an arsenal of music ready and has plans of releasing a double EP.
4 WORK DAYS (4WD) is a project/ep constructed in only 4 working days hence the title. The project has an array of styles, catchy flows and undeniably some of the best lyrics today’s music has to offer. Matched with the grit and melodic sounds of Dale Dizzle Virgo’s production brilliance, SCANTANA shows diversity and versatility with a mix of hip-hop and dancehall songs to compile one body of work. Thus the ep is slated to create a benchmark in the music business’ void.
The project was released through Virgo’s DZL Records. DZL Records is a Kingston based Record Label that came into prominence in the 2010s and was founded by Dale Virgo. The label is home to releases by Kim Nain, Devin Di Dakta, and Ce’cile to name a few. Notable hits from the label include, “Mama” by Christopher Martin, “Soldier Love” by Ikaya, “Goodie Goodie Gyal” by Scantana, and “Somewhere” by Chronixx.
